Description

School of Traditional Archery II – Expanded Edition €30

Over 40 percent more content than the first edition! Plus 330 graphics and illustrations and 43 exercises, 25 of them for beginners.

Traditional archery is also subject to change. Techniques and methods keep getting better. With this book, Dietmar Vorderegger takes this into account. The completely revised Version II aims to present the current state of this sport simply and clearly for all target groups, from beginners to competitive archers.

Out of the wealth of topics in traditional archery, this book covers just one area: shooting with traditional bows and the associated shooting technique.
Beginners can learn to shoot step by step in 25 beginner exercises. Trainers or instructors thus have an aid at hand that teaches newcomers the correct technique in a targeted way and without detours. But experienced archers can also refine their technique with many further exercises, recognise mistakes and correct them. And the experts and competitive archers among the traditionalists receive guidance on approaching and practising archery as a competitive sport.

In just under 100 pages, this book gives a very nice overview of how the various components of archery equipment affect the flight behaviour of the arrow. The parameters of the arrows themselves are covered in relative detail (length, thickness, shape, points, fletching, etc.) and how to select/adjust these optimally for yourself through appropriate testing. The influence of the arrow rest, string, nocking point, the archer and different bow shapes is also clearly discussed.

For beginners in particular, the book provides the necessary background knowledge on identifying and correcting tuning weaknesses in equipment and explains the relationships using suitable models.
