The history of the Bearpaw Limb System | BLS

It all began in 2014, when BEARPAW PRODUCTS achieved its first successes on the global archery market with the legendary 17 inch riser of the MOHAWK. With growing recognition and a large fan community behind it, the 13 inch riser of the future MOHAWK Hunter was developed. This allowed us to master the challenge of combining our proven limbs with the new MOHAWK Hunter riser. With the new 13 inch MOHAWK Hunter riser, a short and therefore aggressive take-down bow with an AMO bow length of 56 | 58 inches was developed.
To create a system that allows the archer to use the best BEARPAW risers with the most diverse BEARPAW limbs, the contact surfaces of the limbs on the riser had to be designed so that the angle guarantees uniform use. One of our goals was also that the draw weight of the limbs remains unchanged, even when the risers are swapped. The length of the BLS riser should therefore have no influence on the draw weight.
This was one of the most important steps toward the BLS: everything must be perfectly combinable with each other. We now offer more than 54 risers within the BLS, including the long-awaited BIG BEAR riser. Depending on individual preference and your own demands, these can be combined with various BEARPAW limbs: Recurve Long | Short in black or olive, as well as Hybrid (black or olive).

Because for us there is no single archery.

Our Big Bear in a new design

Long awaited and now finally back: Our Big Bear comes in a new look! The combination of Cocobolo and Mycarta add weight and stability. The shape of the middle section and the BEARPAW limbs make it an extremely powerful and dynamic hunting bow. The Mohawk ILF riser is built from Bubinga. This gives the riser enough weight of its own to absorb residual energy. We can guarantee that the Mohawk ILF riser can be shot without noticeable hand shock. The layered lamination in the riser scores not only in terms of looks and design. In addition, our lamination of Bubinga, maple and Mycarta stiffens the entire riser and thus guarantees maximum stability.

For the Shadow ILF limbs we opted for a plain look with black fiberglass. This makes the limbs a perfect match for our Mohawk ILF riser. Of course, the Penthalon Shadow limb can be shot with any commercially available high-performance arrow. For the Penthalon Shadow we recommend our Whisper String, in order to achieve its performance perfectly. What does "ILF" mean?
